Click the link above to look at an article about some of the things people have done to lose weight over the last 70 years or so. Some of the earlier ones seem really bizzare.
Instead of trying out some gimmicky fad diet, we should just learn to eat the right way. How many times have you tried a diet and failed? Losing weight isn’t something you do once in awhile. To lose weight and keep it off, you have to change your eating habits. Limit yourself to certain foods 80% of the week, and let yourself enjoy the foods you love 20% of the week. This give you a better chance at reaching your desired goal. Don’t believe all the hype about these diet trends, THEY DON’T WORK in the long run. And you are most likely going to make things worse.
For example, you go on a diet and eat less than 1000 calories a day. Seems like it should work cause you’re not eating much. But what you are actually doing is shutting down your metabolism. Your body needs a certain number of calories a day to function. If you don’t get your daily calorie needs, your body goes into conservation mode. A genetic trait that goes as far back as our first ancestors living off the land. We can survive without food for a week or so, because the human body will sense the lack of food and will start storing and conserving fat. So esentially, going on a diet like this is causing you to become fatter.
