*New Certification* Corrective Exercise

Syphon Fitness has obtained it’s Corrective Exercise Certification, and can help you with injury prevention and current injuries. The certification held from NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) is the official certification for the NBATA (National Basketball Athletic Trainers Association)

“The human body is susceptible to movement dysfunctions and neuromusculoskeletal imbalances. The reasons for this include repetitive movement, overuse, sedentary living, and improper movement techniques.These dysfunctions, in turn, lead to many of the common injuries seen today.”

It’s important to exercise and stay healthy, but sometimes there are injuries that prevent you from doing so. Most people don’t realize that an injury can affect other parts of the body, the human body is a kinetic chain.  An injury to your ankle can eventually affect your knees, hips, and shoulders. This is caused by tight and overactive muscles over compensating for weak and underactive muscles. This can be fixed by stretching the tight muscles and strengthening the weak ones. It is important to get on a specific Corrective Exercise plan in order to prevent any injuries. Any one can work out, but not many can work out safely and effectively.
